Abstract

The use of technology-based learning media is one of the requirements of 21st-century education, which requires teachers to select media that are appropriate for the characteristics of the subject matter and the needs of students in order to support a more effective learning process and increase student motivation. In Pancasila Education classes, teachers are expected to be able to select and utilize technology-based instructional media that are appropriate for the characteristics of the material and the needs of the students. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of technology-based learning media by Pancasila Education teachers at SMP Negeri 27 Padang and to analyze its impact on students’ learning motivation. This study employed a Mixed Methods approach with a Sequential Exploratory design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using the data analysis techniques of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, as well as descriptive statistics. The results indicate that teachers have utilized various technology-based learning media, such as PowerPoint, educational videos, digital images, digital posters, and YouTube as learning resources. These media were selected because they help make the presentation of material more engaging, easier to understand, and better suited to the characteristics of Pancasila Education content. Furthermore, the use of technology-based learning media has a positive impact on students’ learning motivation, as evidenced by increased interest, engagement, perseverance, and motivation throughout the learning process.
