This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining interest among the younger generation in local traditions due to the influence of modernization, particularly in the implementation of the Pacu Jawi tradition in Cubadak village, Lima Kaum sub-district, Tanah Datar regency. Furthermore, the development of digital technology and the limited understanding of the cultural significance of Pacu Jawi among the younger generation pose challenges in building community cultural resilience. This study aims to analyze the role of the Pacu Jawi tradition in building cultural resilience, identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation, and explain the efforts made by the community to overcome these obstacles. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants included traditional leaders, the village government, the Pacu Jawi organizing committee, and the community in Cubadak village. Data validity is carried out through source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive picture of the phenomenon under study. The results indicate that the Pacu Jawi tradition plays a crucial role in building cultural resilience through the transmission of cultural values, strengthening social solidarity, and preserving local culture. Supporting factors for the implementation of this tradition include support from traditional leaders, community participation, and the role of the village government. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include low interest among the younger generation, the influence of modernization and globalization, limited funding, and environmental conditions affected by climate change. Community efforts include youth engagement, cultural value socialization, social media utilization, and collaboration between the government and traditional institutions to maintain the sustainability of traditions.
